Hey Brittany! As for our final project, I was thinking of doing a video on iMovie. I have a Mac at home so if we don't get enough done at school I can do it at home, or you can come over on Thursday and we can do it together. I was also looking at the collage as an option. I've used Glogster.com before and it's pretty easy to use. I really don't want to do the magazine article...we've been writing so much for english:/ So, (between the two) it's up to you!:)

Today we spent our class time constructing our bottle rocket. We used our blueprint as a guideline, as well as our notes. While Brittany on the dowel rod into the middle of the second bottle I applied our plastic fins that we had cut the previous day (many thanks to Mr Henderson). We also made the dowel rod and the fins more secure by applying many layers of duct tape. It seems as though we have made a good amount of progress. As of now, we will be perfecting our rocket and making more applicants for the nose cone. We should be ready for a test launch tomorrow.

Design and Construction
We had a full two hours today to design and construct our rocket. Unfortunately we could not do much further research because the laptops wouldn't work in Mr. Henderson's room, but I printed out a few pages on how to design bottle rockets, and Mallory took very detailed notes. While designing, we had to take in to consideration all of the information that we had collected from our research. The rocket design that we have come up with focuses on stability and power. It has a large pressure chamber with an extra bottle on the top to improve aerodynamics, and also has a dowel rod that extends into the extra bottle. This rod doesn't puncture the pressure chamber, and should help with the rocket's stability if we center it correctly. I am really pleased with our construction thus far, and I hope that we will be able to continue our progress.
Mallory I also need to find an idea for the nose tip. I think plastic will do. It's just that I cannot find anything laying around my house that can be used. I will probably search better tonight again, and if I see anything I will bring it in. Can you try and find a strong parabolic or shaped nose tip for the rocket?

Hey! Here's the bottles I picked up today... The "Pierrier" bottle is a little more rounded than the "Pellegrino" bottle. I can also bring some Gatorade and other plastic water bottles incase we need some extra plastic. I was planning on bringing in cardboard. We might not even use it, but again, just to be safe I'll bring it. I was also wondering how we were going to decorate our rocket. You came up with the Legend Dairy name which is awesome so are we incorporating cows? Maybe we can make it white with black blobs or whatever? I don't know. We can figure it out later on. Let me know if I should bring anything else:)

In science class we have tested different bottle shapes, sizes and the amount of water that they are filled with. According to the observations that I have taken the best amount of water to put in a bottle is 1/4 to 1/3 full. The best possible bottle size is about 2L. These "rockets" did not yet have fins on them. I think that when the fins are put on the rockets will be able to maintain stability for a longer period of time.
